Sodium Hypochlorite 3D
The PLWA chlorination system will have its own shed to house/mix chlorine and a metering pump to inject the disinfectant into the water supply.
The WA State Department of Health (DOH) is requiring us to maintain a detectable residual disinfectant concentration of at least 0.2 mg/L (0.2 parts per million) throughout the distribution system, record the chlorine level five days a week and to report this data monthly. In December, 2025, the PLWA Board decided to install a chlorine analyzer to automate these DOH data collection/reporting requirements.
The DOH directed us to install this system in August 2024.
