The PLWA chlorination system, to be installed in 2025, will consist of its own shed building to house the chlorine, a metering pump to inject the disinfectant into the water supply, an analyzer to measure the injection rate, and a monitoring system that electronically reports the injection rate.
The WA State Department of Health (DOH) requires us to maintain a detectable residual disinfectant concentration of at least 0.2 mg/L (0.2 parts per million) throughout the distribution system.
FACET submitted their engineered plan for approval to the WA State DOH during the first week of March 2025.
