We are planning to start reading the water meters on a regular basis. This will enable us to compare how much water we are pumping from the well with how much water is making it to the water meters. In theory, all of it if we have no distribution system leaks.
One we have accomplished the above, it’s likely we will transition to a combination water billing scheme: a flat fee for an allotment of a specified number of gallons of water during a billing cycle (e.g. twice a year). That will be coupled with an overage rate for water used above the allotment.
